    The form in which yarn is spun on the mule and sometimes on the ring frame. The body of the cop is cylindrical and both ends are conical the end E that is unwound first having a much longer taper than the base end. Some cops are spun on the bare spindle with paste bottoms, some have small paper tubes at the base and some have through tubes. Weft cops for use in the shuttle are smaller than twist cops and although there are no absolute standard dimensions for cop sizes the following indicate usual sizes where D - diameter and L length. Since the introduction of the more-looms-to-a-weaver system, many manufacturers have used larger cops in the shuttle
