otro yo - dícese de la persona con la que se tiene suma confianza◘ Loc. lat. que significa literalmente 'el otro yo'. Se emplea, como locución nominal masculina, con el sentido de 'persona en quien otra tiene absoluta confianza y, por ello, puede hacer sus veces sin restricción alguna': "El propio Chubais y su álter ego en el Ejecutivo ruso, Boris Nemtsov, reniegan de una realidad que ha ahogado desde hace más de cinco años a la economía de este país" ( Abc [Esp.] 26.8.97); y 'persona real o ficticia en quien se reconoce o se ve un trasunto de otra': " Una niña ( álter ego de la autora) conduce la narración" ( Proceso [Méx.] 15.12.96).
