сжатие без потери данных, обратимое сжатиехарактерное свойство алгоритма (техники) сжатия, применение которого не приводит к потере данных, что позволяет восстановить сжатый файл до первоначального состояния, т. е. восстановленный файл идентичен исходному. Используется для файлов программ, документов и баз данных, обеспечивая сжатие до 10 раз. Все существующие алгоритмы обратимого сжатия основаны на снижении избыточности данных в сжимаемом файле: повторяющаяся последовательность заменяется кодом этой последовательности.
