Трутајп фонтовите се идентични и за екран и за принтер, можат да се скалираат и, за разлика од Постскрипт фонтовите, за тоа не е неопходен дополнителен програм (како Adobe type manager за PostScript) и се лесно преносливи; документите напишани со трутајп фонтови можете да ги отпечатите на секој ласерски принтер бидејќи не е неопходно принтерот да биде снабден со посебен интерпретер. Но, затоа пак, трутајп фонтовите се со послаб квалитет од Постскрипт фонтовите. Види PostScript.
