Канал, в котором вероятность приема символа длительностью Т зависит от наличия или отсутствия ошибок в предыдущих или последующих элементах полезного сигнала. Принятие решения осуществляется за время (T+L), где L - конечная память канала (время реакции канала). Память канала называется “короткой”, если она меньше длительности элемента сигнала(L<T) и длинной, если она соизмерима с Т или больше.
