«Слово — складной чемодан», слово-гибрид (искусственное слово, составленное из двух других). Его придумал Льюис Кэрролл (Lewis Carroll) (1832—98), известный английский писатель, автор книги «Приключения Алисы в Стране Чудес» и др. Он также придумал слова: chortle (комбинация слов chuckle — посмеиваться и snort — фыркать), mimsy (miserable — жалкий, несчастный и flimsy — непрочный), slithy (slimy — слизистый и lithe — гибкий). Более современные «творения» — slanguage (slang + language), dumbfound (dumb + confound).
