    En option er en kontrakt, der giver ejeren (køberen) retten, men ikke pligten, til at købe eller sælge en fordring til en aftalt pris på et aftalt fremtidigt tidspunkt. Sælgeren er naturligvis forpligtet til at opfylde ejerens ret. Der findes følgende typer optioner:
    1) Call option: ret til at købe.
    2) Put option: ret til at sælge.
