Так, можно иметь a bog-standard computer/car/house/education (обычный компьютер/обычная машина/обычный дом/общее образование). Происхождение этого выражения неясно. Есть предположение, что существует какая-то связь с забытым кембриджским жаргонным словом bog-wheel (велосипед), которое в настоящее время носит презрительный оттенок и означает плохое качество чего-либо, ассоциируясь с современным значением слова bog: болото, трясина, топь, почва, непригодная для культивации или строительства. -
