С 1934 - в США, в Стэнфордском университете [ Stanford University]. Во время второй мировой войны участвовал в Манхэттенском проекте [ Manhattan Project] создания атомной бомбы. В конце 40-х годов открыл явление ядерно-магнитного резонанса. За эту работу (совместно с Э.
