rimanere v.intr. (pres.ind. rimàngo, rimàni; p.rem. rimàsi; fut. rimarrò; p.p. rimàsto; aus. essere) 1. ( restare) rester: rimanere a letto rester au lit; non andartene, rimani qua ne t'en va pas, reste ici; rimanere a cena rester dîner. 2. ( fermarsi) rester, s'arrêter: riprendiamo la lettura da dove siamo rimasti l'ultima volta reprenons la lecture où nous étions restés la dernière fois, reprenons la lecture où nous nous étions arrêtés la dernière fois; dove ero rimasto? où en étais-je? 3. ( avanzare) rester, avoir (costr.pers.): mi rimangono solo due euro il ne me reste que deux euros, je n'ai que deux euros; è il solo amico che mi rimane c'est le seul ami qu'il me reste. 4. (esserci da percorrere, da passare) y avoir (costr.impers.; aus. avoir), rester (costr.impers.): quanta strada rimane fino in città? quelle distance y a-t-il encore jusqu'à la ville?; rimangono pochi giorni a Pasqua il ne reste que quelques jours avant Pâques, c'est bientôt Pâques. 5. (permanere, continuare) rester, être (aus. avoir): questo cinema rimarrà chiuso nel periodo estivo ce cinéma restera fermé pendant l'été; siamo rimasti amici nous sommes restés amis. 9. ( essere) être: sono rimasto molto sorpreso dalle sue parole je suis très surpris par ce qu'il a dit; rimanere ucciso être tué. 10. ( diventare) devenir, être (aus. avoir): rimanere orfano devenir orphelin; rimanere paralizzato rester paralysé; rimanere ferito être blessé. 11. ( continuare a vivere) rester: lo scrittore è morto ma rimangono le sue opere l'écrivain est mort mais ses œuvres restent. 12. ( andare in eredità) aller: la casa rimarrà al figlio la maison ira à son fils. 13. ( mettersi d'accordo) décider ( che de, que; aus. avoir): siamo rimasti che ci saremmo visti la settimana seguente nous avons décidé de nous voir la semaine d'après; come siete rimasti? qu'avez-vous décidé? 14. (restare meravigliato, stupito) rester bouche bée: a quella vista tutti rimasero à cette vue tout le monde est resté bouche bée.
