סוֹטָהf. (סָטָה) faithless wife, a woman suspected of faithlessness, to whom the law, Num. 5:12–31, applies; Sotah. Sot.2a, a. e. פרשת ס׳ the chapter concerning the Sotah (Num. l. c.). Ib. כל הרואה ס׳ בקילקולהוכ׳ whoever sees a Sotah in her disgrace, will vow abstinence from wine. Yeb.85b ס׳ ודאי a convicted adulteress.
