В 1878 г. все эти гильдии объединились и основали Институт Сити и гильдий Лондона (the City and Guilds of London Institute), который затем учредил Колледж Сити и гильдий (the City and Guilds College) при Имперском колледже науки и технологии (the Imperial College of Science and Technology), а также участвовал в других проектах технического образования. -
