Кредитные брокерские операции (credit brokerage)-это посредничество между людьми, желающими получить кредит, и людьми, предоставляющими потребительский кредит.
Урегулирование долга (debt adjusting) - это переговоры, на которых третья сторона от имени должника вырабатывает с кредитором условия погашения задолженности, обусловленной договором о потребительском кредите или о покупке в рассрочку. Должник может также заплатить третьей стороне за то, что она примет на себя его обязательства по погашению долга или предпримет какие-либо аналогичные действия, ведущие к ликвидации задолженности.
Консультирование по задолженностям (debt counselling) заключается в консультации (отличной от той, которую предложили должнику его кредитор и некоторые другие лица) относительно ликвидации задолженностей, обусловленных договорами о потребительском кредите или о покупке в рассрочку.
Агентство по кредитной информации (credit-reference agency) собирает информацию о финансовом положении людей и предоставляет ее заинтересованным лицам.
Закон о потребительском кредите (1974 г.) предусматривает лицензирование вспомогательной кредитной деятельности и регулирует ее.
