Соединения Аl с большинством элементов Периодич. системы. По характеру металло-хим. взаимодействия с Аl все элементы разделены на классы. 1 -и класс включает элементы 1A подгруппы, к-рые, за исключением Li, не вступают в хим. взаимодействие с алюминием. 2-й класс охватывает элементы подгрупп Са и Си и все переходные металлы, включая лантаноиды и актиноиды, образующие при взаимодействии с Аl большое число интерметаллич. соединений. Только с Be, элементом НА подгруппы, Аl не взаимодействует. Zn, В, Si объединены в 3-й класс; все элементы ИВ—IVB подгрупп, за исключением С и В, не образуют алюминидов. К 4-му классу относятся элементы VA— VIIA подгрупп (N, О, F), с к-рыми Аl образует соединения, отвечающие правилу валентности. Элементы VA подгруппы образуют соединения типа ВА, VIA подгруппы — весьма устойчивые соединения типа AjB3.В нек-рых двойных системах с Аl, напр. Аl-V, обнаружено соединение VAlM, в Аl—Сг — алюминид СгАЦ. Наиб, богатые алюминием соединения с Мп и Fe имеют состав МеАl6. В системе Аl—Сг, имеющей важное значение для алюминотермии Сг, известны интерметаллич. алюминидные фазы: CrAl,, CfjAl,,, СгАl4, Cr5Alg, CfjAl, Cr^Al. Знание термохим. св-в алюминидов многих металлов важно для технологии алюминотермич. произ-ва ряда ферросплавов.
