Участок белка, непосредственно обеспечивающий контакты с другими макромолекулами, например, А.с. гистонов histones - место присоединения к молекуле ДНК, А.с. фермента - место присоединения к субстрату и т.д.; часто А.с. называют активным центром.* * *Активный сайт — участки белковых молекул, которые могут принимать определенную форму, а аминокислоты, входящие в них, — быть функционально активными.
