6 experiential learning
HRa model that views learning as a cyclical process in four stages: concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, and active experimentation. Experiential learning relates to participants’ activities and reactions to a training event, in contrast to passive learning. Proposed by David Kolb in 1971, the model was later expanded by other practitioners including Peter Honey and Alan Mumford. Experiential learning differs from action learning in that it can apply to an individual working alone while action learning is seen essentially as a group activity. -
