small nucleolar RNA, snoRNAбольшая группа (свыше 200) коротких некодирующих белки неполиаденилированных РНК, представленная двумя семействами (C / D и H / ACA), которые локализованы в ядрышке. Функциональные М.я.РНК формируются из предшественников в тельцах Кахаля. Большинство этих РНК (в форме РНП) участвует в модификации и процессинге рибосомных РНК в ядрышке. Вместе с тем они принимают участие и в осуществлении большого количества других функций (трансляция мРНК, сплайсинг РНК и стабильность генома) вне ядрышка, что не соответствует их первоначальному названию.Толковый биотехнологический словарь.
