Национальный парк "Окаменелый лес"Находится на востоке штата Аризона. Крупнейший в мире музей под открытым небом. Упавшие деревья, начиная с триасового периода, заносило песком и глиной, и они постепенно насыщались минеральными солями. Доступ воздуха и эрозия окрасили стволы деревьев в различные оттенки красного и желтого цветов. Парк охватывает участок пустыни Пейнтед [ Painted Desert], в нем также сохраняются остатки индейских поселений. Наивысшая точка парка - гора Пайлот-Рок [Pilot Rock] на севере (высота 1,9 тыс. м).
