Органический/внутренний рост
Рост компании за счет расширения своей собственной деятельности, а не с помощью слияний и поглощений. Органический рост - это увеличение доли компании на рынке, чего можно добиться путем разработки новых продуктов, выигрывая в конкурентной борьбе (см. Horisontal integration), или путем завоевания новых рынков. Компания также может расширяться за счет вертикальной интеграции (см. Vertical integration) и за счет диверсификации продукции. Преимуществом роста за счет внутренних резервов является возможность использования компанией с выгодой для себя имеющегося запаса знаний и умений, свободных производственных мощностей и т.д. Внутренний рост может быть единственно возможным способом расширения, если нет подходящей компании для поглощения или если продукт, производимый компанией, находится на начальном этапе своего жизненного цикла (см. Product life cycle). Недостатком органического роста можно считать фактор неопределенности: полагаясь в основном на внутренние ресурсы, компания, возможно, не сумеет разработать качественный продукт, чтобы удержать свои позиции на рынке. Поэтому фирмы чаще опираются как на внутренний, так и на внешний рост. Ср.: External growth. См.
