(Юлиан Отступник. Речи, VI, 358 и сл.) Viele [alle] Wege führen nach Rom. d. h. welchen Weg man auch nimmt, jeder führt zu demselben Ziel (Julian der Abtrünnige. Oratio). Der römische Kaiser Julian versuchte, das Heidentum wiederherzustellen, wofür er auch literarisch tätig war. In seiner Schrift spricht er von der heidnischen Religion als der einzig wahren Philosophie, zu der viele Wege führen, sowie davon, dass man auf verschiedenen Wegen nach Athen gelangen kann.
