12 the nightmare and her nine-fold
Edgar: "...Swithold footed thrice the wold; He met the night-mare and her ninefold... " (W. Shakespeare, ‘King Lear’, act III, sc. 4) — Эдгар: "...
Stars shoot and meteors glare oftener across the valley than in any other part of the country, and the nightmare with her whole nine-fold seems to make it the favourite scene of her gambols.

13 Crabbing Machine
The cloth must be got out in full width, for the subsequent finishing processes and " set " at this width. This is effected in the crabbing machine, of which there are two main types, namely, the ordinary, which runs the cloth at full width and under pressure on to the crabbing roller, which is immersed in boiling water; and the crabbing and winding-on machine which runs the cloth under tension to a roller, upon which it is steamed or boiled, or both. The operation of crabbing is usually repeated twice and sometimes oftener. -
