"Тело Джона Брауна"1) Народная баллада, посвященная аболиционисту Дж. Брауну [ Brown, John], лидеру восстания за освобождение рабов 1859 в Вирджинии, который после его разгрома был повешен. Самая популярная песня у северян во время Гражданской войны [ Civil War]. На ее мотив Дж. Хау [ Howe, Julia Ward] написала в 1861 "Боевой гимн Республики" [ Battle Hymn of the Republic], патриотическую песню-марш, ставшую неофициальным гимном северян [ Union Army]2) Эпическая поэма С.
