Роханское название, представляющее собой старое слово (древнеанглийское "firgen", произносится как "firien"), означающее "гора". Ср. Halifirien, "священная гора". Поскольку слово "firien" относится к языку Рохана, оно должно быть сохранено. В тексте книги название Firienholt (лес вокруг Halifirien и на её склонах) было изменено на Firienwood, в то время как название Firienfeld (плоскогорье в Dunharrow) не было модернизировано ( Firienfield в Указателе – это ошибка), что непоследовательно {Древнеанглийское слово "holt" (см. статью Dimholt) и английское "wood" означают "лес", а древнеанглийское "feld" – "равнина; обрабатываемая земля" (английское "field" – "поле").}. При переводе и Firienfeld, и Firienholt лучше оставить без изменений, поскольку это иноязычные названия (то есть не на всеобщем).
