19 Filament
The term given to each single strand of the several which constitute a thread of rayon or silk yarn. The number of filaments varies considerably in various yarns according to count. Filaments are made as fine as one denier, and there may be 60 of these filaments in a 60 denier yarn. The average denier of the filaments in commercial rayon yarns is much coarser, and in 150 denier yarn there are generally about 24 to 30 filaments. -
