       Stanley Donen es, sin lugar a dudas, uno de los genios del musical moderno que el renovo a mediados de los 40, librandolo de cierto encorsetamiento. El uso de escenarios naturales y el empleo, casi magico, de una camara que parece no tener limites en su indagacion del espacio, caracterizan, entre otras cosas, los musicales de Donen. Por el contrario, Siete novias para siete hermanos abunda en decorados artificiales y abusa del “bel canto”, lo que no obsta para que este rudo drama del salvaje oeste sea un esplendido musical y,.por que no?, un magnifico western.
