Светляк отвешивает пощечину послу, и на сей раз война между Свободией и Сильванией разгорается всерьез. Ход военных действий отмечен рядом инцидентов: например, Светляк открывает огонь по собственным войскам. Но приходит подкрепление, и Трентино вынужден сдаться.► Последний фильм братьев Маркс, снятый для студии «Paramount». В то время он разочаровал публику, но с годами стал самым ценимым и знаменитым их фильмом. Маккэри оставил воспоминания о том, как тяжело было работать с братьями. Труднее всего было собрать всю четверку на съемочной площадке. Они часто приводили с собой бригаду «гэгменов» - разную всякий раз. Их маниям и звездным капризам не было числа.
