Посещают их ради определенного рода контактов. Знаете историю Пациента №1 - канадского пилота, имевшего специальную книжечку, где он коллекционировал имена и телефоны партнеров? Он, когда заболел, все свое собрание передал врачам. Так была впервые доказана инфекционная природа СПИДа. Наш герой лично заразил около двух тысяч человек вот в этих самых BATHOUSE'ах (никто тогда, конечно, не имел представления о болезни). В конце 80-х годов в вымерших кварталах Сан-Франциско эти заведения позакрывали - так ушла целая эпоха. Но, как справедливо было замечено в фильме "Jurassic Park", жизнь берет свое. Половая жизнь - тоже, так что заведения эти полностью не исчезли, только число их сильно уменьшилось.
