5 Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty (SALT-I, SALT-II)
Договор об ограничении стратегических вооружений (ОСВ-1, ОСВ-2)Переговоры между США и СССР об ограничении стратегических вооружений были начаты в ноябре 1969 и завершились подписанием 26 мая 1972 бессрочного Договора между СССР и США об ограничении систем противоракетной обороны [Treaty on the Limitation of Anti-Ballistic Missiles Systems (ABM Treaty)] и Временного соглашения о некоторых мерах в области ограничения стратегических наступательных вооружений [Interim Agreemnet on Certain Measures with Respect to the Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms]. Вместе с Соглашением о мерах по уменьшению опасности возникновения ядерной войны [Agreement on Measures to Reduce the Risk of Outbreak of Nuclear War between the USSR and the USA] (1971) получили название Соглашения по ОСВ-1. Соглашение вступило в силу 3 октября 1972. В ходе рабочей встречи на высшем уровне в ноябре 1974 во Владивостоке была достигнута договоренность об ограничении дополнительных компонентов стратегических сил СССР и США как в количественном, так и в качественном отношении. 18 июня 1979 в Вене были подписаны Договор об ограничении стратегических наступательных вооружений [Treaty on the Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms], Протокол к нему, Совместное заявление о принципах и основных направлениях последующих переговоров об ограничении стратегических вооружений, а также ряд других документов. Весь комплекс этих документов, предусматривавших ограничения на все компоненты стратегических сил СССР и США, получили название Договор по ОСВ-2. Ратификация этого Договора была отклонена Сенатом США [ Senate, U.S.], а после ввода советских войск в Афганистан в декабре 1979 отложена на неопределенное время.
