חָבַט(b. h.; cmp. חבש, הבל) ( to use force, 1) to press down. Erub.42b תקרת … חוֹבֶטֶת the roofing of the house presses upon him (keeps him mindful of the Sabbath limit); v. חָבוּט. B.
