נהר

דִּינוּר, נהר ד׳pr. n. Nhar Dinur ( Fire-River) a fictitious river (v. Dan. 7:10). Yalk. Is. 373 the Sun bathes in a river of fire which is called נ׳ ד׳. Gen. R. s. 78; Ḥag.13b (Ex. R. s. 15 נהר של אש).

נָהָרm. (b. h.; v. נָהַר) river, stream, canal. Ex. R. s. 15 נְהַר אש, נ׳ של אש a river of fire (v. דִּינוּר). Gen. R. s. 16 עד מקום שהנ׳ מהלךוכ׳ as far as the river (Euphrates) goes, goes the border of the land of Israel. Shebi. VI, 1 מכזיב ועד הנ׳ from Kezib to the river (Nhar Mitsrayim); a. fr.Pl. נְהָרִים, נְהָרוֹת. Gen. R. l. c. (ref. to Gen. 2:10) והיה לארבעה נ׳ איןוכ׳ it does not say, ‘and it divided into four rivers but ‘into four heads. Ib. אוותנטין של נ׳, v. אֶוְותַּנְטִי. Bekh.55a כל הנ׳ למטהוכ׳ all other rivers are lower than the three (mentioned Gen. 2:11, sq.), and these three are lower than the Euphrates; a. fr.נְהַר in pr. n. of rivers, e. g. נ׳ פקוד, v. respective determinants.
