קוּמְצָא, קָמְצָאII c. (= גּוּמְצָא, כּוּמְצָא) pit. Targ. II Sam. 18:17.Esp. the pit in which grain is kept in years of plenty, when the granaries are overflowing. Gen. R. s. 90 (expl. לקמצים, Gen. 41:47) מקומצא לריחיא (ed. מן קוצא, מקוצץ, corr. acc.) from the pit they carried the grain to the mill (leaving the granaries untouched); Yalk. ib. 148 מקמצא.Pl. f. קַמְצָתָא. Ib. ורבנן אמרי דק׳ ודלא דק׳ the Rabbis say, they carried to the mill grain which had been put in pits and such even as bad not been put in pits; Gen. R. l. c.; (strike out דק׳ ובלא ק׳ after לריחיא). -
