נָכַר(b. h.) to be unknown, strange. Hif. הִכִּיר 1) to recognize, know; to favor. Ruth R. to II, 10 (ref. to להכירני, ib.) נתנבאה … להַכִּירָהּ כדרךוכ׳ she prophesied that he would know her in the way of all people (as his wife, cmp. יָדַע).
