Yoma 23a לוקה … בפ׳ he is smitt en by the overseer with a strap (expl. מַדְרָא, מְטַרְקָא). Ib. (ref. to Shek. l. c.) אמינא מאי פ׳ נגדא I would now say, pḳiʿa means strap (appointed to execute punishment).Eduy.
