    צְמַדch. sam(צמד tsab), 1) to join, attach, harness. Part. pass. צָמִיד; f. צְמִידָא; pl. צְמִידִין, a) attached, harnessed. Targ. 1 Kings 19:19.b) attached to, addicted to, in the habit of. Lam. R. to III, ix הוה צמיד עיית קינדלויוכ׳ Ar. (ed. הוה מסדראוכ׳; Y.Maas. Sh. V, 56a top הוה עביד) made it a habit to prepare his lights on Friday (v. עוּת ch.). Lev.
