101 Blending
A process in spinning. It is a most important work and requires great skill. Yarns are made from a blend of several cottons in order to give the yams characteristics not possessed by any one variety. The various types of cotton used must be carefully selected, as if any variety used is not suitable the quality of the yarn may be lowered. Usually cottons are not blended that differ much in length of staple, feel of fibre, or colour. -
