    У большинства обстоятельственных придаточных предложений возможны сокращенные, или неполные, варианты. Если подлежащее (Subject) придаточного предложения совпадает с подлежащим главного, а сказуемое содержит глагол be, то подлежащее и be могут опускаться.
    1) придаточные времени (см. Adverbial clause of time).

    He got engaged to her when travelling last winter. ( = when he was travelling last winter). — Он обручился с ней во время путешествия прошлой зимой.

    2) придаточные места (см. Adverbial clause of place)
