'gram·mar school n¿ Kultur?Die ältesten grammar schools - ≈ Gymnasien in Großbritannien wurden vor vielen Jahrhunderten für den Lateinunterricht gegründet. Um 1950 wurden Schüler nach Bestehen der Prüfung eleven-plus examination in grammar schools aufgenommen. Nur etwa 20 % der Schüler bestanden diese Prüfung; die Übrigen gingen auf eine secondary modern school - ≈ Realschule. Die beiden Schularten wurden in den 60er und 70er Jahren als comprehensive schools - Gesamtschulen neu organisiert.
