Very popular form of betting on horse-races in France. The Tiercé involves guessing the first three horses in a race, and money is paid out to those who get the result 'in the order' or 'out of order'. There is also prize-money for getting two out of the three. Since its introduction, a version involving the first five horses, called the Quinté, has supplanted the tiercé as the most popular form of betting in France.
