Nota d'usoCloth è una stoffa di fibre naturali o sintetiche tessute o lavorate a maglia, oppure un pezzo di tessuto usato per asciugare, pulire, coprire qualcosa, ecc.: a dish cloth, uno strofinaccio; a soft damp cloth, una pezza morbida e umida. Il plurale di cloth è cloths: Where do you keep your cloths and washing up liquid?, dove tieni gli strofinacci e il detersivo?Clothes significa, invece, “vestiti, indumenti” ed è un sostantivo soltanto plurale; al singolare si usano espressioni formali come garment, piece of clothing o article of clothing oppure il nome specifico del tipo di vestito ( shirt, dress, trousers, ecc.). -
