    Grand, bel arbre, dont le suc des racines était employé comme fébrifuge (Hern.). Il fournit un excellent bois de construction (pochote) (S).
    Note: les graines du ceiba acuminé riches en huile sont consommables et on un goût de noix. Les Yaqui et d'autres indiens récoltent les racines tubéreuses à la fin de la saison des pluies et les grillent dans de la braise.
