Межбанковская ставка процента по краткосрочному кредиту в евродолларах, ежедневно фиксируемая в 11 часов по Гринвичу участниками Лондонского межбанковского рынка. Ставка ЛИБОР служит ориентиром для компаний и государств, осуществляющих внешнеэкономические финансовые или торговые операции с использованием разных форм кредита. Например, некая страна, заимствуя деньги, может уплатить процент, исчисленный как ЛИБОР плюс один или два пункта.
