Begivenhedsrisiko, dvs. risikoen for at udsteders kreditværdighed pludseligt forringes dramatisk som følge af en afgørende ændring af udsteders ejerforhold. Dette kan eksempelvis forekomme i forbindelse med friendly take-over bid, hostile take-over bid, leveraged buyout, management buyout eller mergers and acquisitions. For at beskytte investorerne herimod kan der indbygges en covenant og/eller en put option i dokumentationen, således at udsteder, hvis obligationsejerne ønsker det, får pligt til at førtidsindfri obligationerne til pari, hvis hans rating forringes under et nærmere angivet niveau. -
