29 Barnum, Phineas Taylor (P. T.)
В 1881 совместно со своим бывшим конкурентом Бейли [Bailey, James A.] создал цирк [Barnum and Bailey Circus] - "Величайшее представление на земле" ["The greatest show on earth"], в котором артисты выступали на нескольких аренах сразу [ three ring circus]. В 1865 опубликовал откровенную книгу "Пройдохи мира" ["Humbugs of the World"]. Ему принадлежит знаменитая фраза "На наш век простаков хватит" ["There is a sucker born every minute"].English-Russian dictionary of regional studies > Barnum, Phineas Taylor (P. T.)
