Неудача большинства постановок фирмы «Paramount», снятых во Франции, и триумфальный успех Жана с Луны, Jean de la Lune, Жан Шу, 1931 – точной экранизации пьесы Марселя Ашара, – вновь заставили вспомнить о проекте.Решено, что Мариюс будет снят с первоначальным актерским составом под управлением Александра Корды.
