Индекс
Статистический показатель, характеризующий изменение переменных величин в рассматриваемый период времени относительно базового периода. Например, индекс розничных цен (retail price index) отражает относительное изменение среднего уровня цен «потребительской корзины». Индекс базового года обычно принимается за 100. Если базой для расчета индекса розничных цен в Великобритании является 1987 г., а в 2002 г. он составил 173, это означает, что розничные цены в период с 1987 г. по 2002 г. в среднем выросли на 73%.
