Плазмидный клонирующий вектор — плазмида, сконструированная для клонирования чужеродной ДНК с помощью техники рекомбинантной ДНК (см. Рекомбинантная ДНК). П. к. в. обычно имеют небольшой размер, реплицируются под ослабленным контролем, содержат селективные маркерные гены, гены, кодирующие ферменты и легко анализируемые и уникальные сайты рестрикции, или полилинкеры.
