Комитет Федеральной резервной системы (Federal Reserve System), который определяет ее политику, устанавливая уровни объемов денежной массы и кредита в банковской системе США. Его члены-члены Совета управляющих Федеральной резервной системы и некоторые из президентов двенадцати Федеральных резервных банков (Federal Reserve Banks) - встречаются раз в месяц и решают вопросы регулирования объемов денежной массы, отдавая федеральным банкам указания покупать или продавать ценные бумаги.
