д.: запретить ребенку выходить из дома – to forbid a child to leave home, запретить больному вставать с постели – to forbid a patient to leave the bed. Prohibit имеет в виду официальное запрещение: запретить продажу спиртных напитков – to prohibit the sale of liquors.
