    How well does she sing?Как она поет?

    I wonder how large the distance between these towns is. — Интересно, каково расстояние между этими городами?

    How was the trip?Как прошла поездка?

    Русские как мне спросить, как мне сказать соответствуют how shall I ask, how do I say… Русское как ты думаешь? соответствует в английском языке What do you think?;

    What does he look like?Как он выглядит?

    (2). Английские how many и how much соответствуют русскому сколько. (3). How не употребляется для описания сравнений. В сравнительных сочетаниях так, так же, как употребляется предлог like, сочетание in the same way или as:

    He works like this father — Он работает так же, как его отец.

    He did it in the same way — Он сделал это таким же образом.

    (4). How не употребляется в сочетаниях типа какого рода, какой, каков. В этих случаях употребляется выражение what kind of … или what is … like?

    What kind of books do you like?Какие Вы любите читать книги?

    (5). Русские какой, каково передается в английском языке с помощью вопросительного what (а не how!).
