64 Brussels Carpets
Uncut pile fabrics, in which the worsted yarn used forms part of the fabric itself as well as the figure, and is woven through the cloth from back to face. These carpets are known as three-frame, four-frame, five-frame, etc., carpets. Each frame has a capacity of 256 bobbins of one colour, so in a five-frame fabric there are five colours, and in each dent of the reed there are five pile threads and two ground threads. The five-frame Brussels thus means five colours are used for figuring. Round wires are used (up to nine per inch) to form the pile, and these are withdrawn from the side of the cloth. A low imitation is made from coarse linen and jute yarns, and called Brusselette. -

[IEV number 421-01-14]Oil transformers
The magnetic circuit and the windings are immersed in a liquid dielectric that provides insulation and evacuates the heat losses of the transformer.
This liquid expands according to the load and the ambient temperature. PCBs and TCBs are now prohibited and mineral oil is generally used. It is flammable and requires protective measures against the risks of fire, explosion and pollution.
The most commonly used protective measures are the DGPT or the DGPT2: Gas, Pressure and Temperature sensor with 1 or 2 sensing levels on the temperature. This system cuts off the LV load (1st level) then the HV supply (2nd level) when there is a fault inside the transformer. A holding tank is used to recover all the liquid dielectric.
Of the four types of immersed transformer: free breathing transformers, gas cushion transformers, transformers with expansion tank and transformers with integral filling, only the latter are currently installed.

BCG matrix
The four segments of the BCG Matrix
Placing products in the BCG matrix provides 4 categories in a portfolio of a company:
Stars (high growth, high market share)
Stars are using large amounts of cash. Stars are leaders in the business. Therefore they should also generate large amounts of cash.
Stars are frequently roughly in balance on net cash flow. However if needed any attempt should be made to hold your market share in Stars, because the rewards will be Cash Cows if market share is kept.
Cash Cows (low growth, high market share)
Profits and cash generation should be high. Because of the low growth, investments which are needed should be low.
Cash Cows are often the stars of yesterday and they are the foundation of a company.
Dogs (low growth, low market share)
Avoid and minimize the number of Dogs in a company.
Watch out for expensive ‘rescue plans’.
Dogs must deliver cash, otherwise they must be liquidated.
Question Marks (high growth, low market share)
Question Marks have the worst cash characteristics of all, because they have high cash demands and generate low returns, because of their low market share.
If the market share remains unchanged, Question Marks will simply absorb great amounts of cash.
Either invest heavily, or sell off, or invest nothing and generate any cash that you can. Increase market share or deliver cash.Дополнительный универсальный русско-английский словарь > матрица BCG

72 Crepon
A crepe-like structure obtained in several ways, such as (1) a combination of material; (2) combination of weaves; (3) combination of material and weaves; (4) by special chemical processes. Crepons are true crepes because the fabric when finished is crinkled. The terms " crepe " and " crepon " are now used for any fabric of the crepe style, produced by any of the four methods given above. The crepes made for shipping to India, China, South America and other markets in cotton are produced by methods (2) in dobby looms and from 6 to 16 shafts used. Standard makes are as follows: - 34-in. 120 yards, 58 X 62, 34's T., 16's W., 291/2-lb., 12 shafts; 35-in. 120 yard, 68 X 68, 36's T., 22's W., 28-lb., 8 shafts; 56-in. 120 yard, 72 X 76, 36's T., 24's W., 46-lb. 8 shafts. Wool crepons are made with mohair for the face warp and weft and botany for the back warp and weft. As botany shrinks more than mohair the crepe effect is obtained when the cloth is finished -
73 Drills Florentine Or French Twill
A four-shaft weave from heavy yarns of good quality, warp faced, with a pronounced twill rib. Khaki drills are principally made with this weave. Typical cloths are 29-in. wide 88 ends and 44 picks per inch, 18's T., 16's W. 88 ends and 44 picks per inch, 12'sT., 12's W. 96 ends and 54 picks per inch, 14's T., 14's W. Government drills with this weave are made to a given weight per yard for 29-in. cloth (see Khaki). The flax drills used for riding breeches and suitings are woven in 2 & 1 twill, 3 & 1 twill, and 5-end satin weaves. Examples are: 76 ends and'60 picks per inch, 36's T., 40's W., all linen. 94 ends and 72 picks per inch, 25's T., 40's W., all linen.Dictionary of the English textile terms > Drills Florentine Or French Twill

74 Satin
Originally a silk cloth with warp predominating over weft. The weft is almost completely covered, giving a very smooth warp face. The best satin weaves are those in which the intersections are distributed widely and equidistantly spaced. Satin weaves can be made on any number of ends and picks above four, but the perfect satins, e.g., those in which the intersections are equidistant in warp and weft are few, see examples numbered 5, 10 and 13. The 8-end satin also has good distribution of the intersections. In all satin weaves each thread and pick intersects once only in each repeat. This permits fabrics to be made with a greater number of warp threads per inch than picks; or a greater number of picks per inch than warp threads. In both cases maximum smoothness of surface appearance is obtained, especially when the Schreiner finish is applied. A great variety of fabrics are made in the satin weave; silk, rayon, wool, cotton, flax, etc., are all used. Silk satins very often have a cotton back formed by using cotton yarn as weft. -
